My name is Katie Walker, and I recently founded Sticks and Stones Studio, a nonprofit dedicated to providing accessible art programs for children from rural and low-income families. Our mission is to empower kids through creative expression, choice-based learning, and nature-inspired art, fostering connections between art and the environment. We’re currently identifying areas in our community where support is most needed and launching programs like after-school art clubs, school-out day workshops, and summer camps.
I’m seeking active, motivated community members to join our board of directors. Serving on a nonprofit board is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause, develop professionally, and build connections within your community. I’m especially looking for individuals passionate about bringing art to local children and knowledgeable about Applegate Valley’s unique needs, as I’m new to the area and would value guidance on where our programs can make the biggest impact.
