Local community building nonprofit, A Greater Applegate (AGA), is hosting a unique musical event you will not want to miss! Local star David J. Gordon will play guitar and sing songs of community at an intimate house concert benefit event this Saturday December 7th, 2019 from 4:00-6:00 PM. Seth and Lily Kaplan will host the event at their home at 790 Humbug Creek Jacksonville, OR 97530. Tickets are $20 and are available online at http://bit.ly/concert4AGA. All ticket sales benefit A Greater Applegate’s various community building programs.

AGA is working with Applegate residents, nonprofits, and businesses to increase community connections for the social, environmental and economic vitality of the Applegate Valley. This effort is ongoing and is referred to as the 2020 Community Visioning. The goal of the 2020 Community Visioning is to best understand local challenges and opportunities by convening the community to collect input and shared experiences.

All of AGA’s efforts are made possible by generous grants and donations. The organization could not exist without the philanthropic spirit of those who believe in the work the organization is undertaking. For this house concert to benefit A Greater Applegate, David will sing songs of love, laughter and hope interwoven with stories, poetry, and his own disarming brand of humor. The playlist includes acoustic music both old and new by great songwriters like John Lennon, Tom Paxton, Kate Wolf, John McCutcheon, David Wilcox, Iris DeMent, and more. Gordon’s love of traditional and contemporary acoustic music, along with his beautiful voice and storyteller’s craft, make his acoustic concerts a hot ticket.

The Washington Post described David Gordon as “a model of style and charm, and an irresistible performer,” and the Boston Globe called him “stirringly poetic.”

David is a life-long troubadour whose compelling voice, keen sense of drama and wacky humor has charmed audiences worldwide. He has forged a unique international career as singer, teacher, lecturer, author, and recording artist in music reaching from Bach to country music, from grand opera to jazz, from Mozart to John Lennon. Since 2016 David has been a Jacksonville resident and his concerts in the Rogue Valley have earned him a large local following.
