Rooster Blackspur is an award-winning New Mexico singer-songwriter and storyteller shaped by the wild solitude of the Alaskan wilderness. The daughter of a dogsled musher, she left the Last Frontier to troubadour the lower 48, collecting stories along the way from outsider’s and black sheep. Equal parts Johnny Cash grit and outsider revival preacher, Rooster blends western grit, unholy gospel, and Americana roots with raw storytelling, soul, and sincerity—creating a live experience that is a little wild, a little sacred, and unlike anything else.
