Explore the hot topic of AI and learn what it is, and some of the challenges and concerns it creates.

This session will focus on learning some of the basics of AI technology. We’ll discuss the many variants of AI, including the incredibility popular Generative AI (Gen AI), and briefly cover how it all works. We will also delve into what AI is NOT. We’ll talk about its limitations and where you should (or should not) consider using it. Finally, we will end with an open discussion where we contemplate some of the societal challenges AI creates, and how we as individuals can work to prepare ourselves to combat potentially negative or harmful outcomes.

This session will be led by Joseph Hurley. Joseph has over 30 years of experience working in Information Technology. With a background in application development, he has worked at some of the most transformative software companies in the world. He currently works at Digital.ai, a software solution provider and thought-leader in the space of evolving traditional DevSecOps teams to leverage AI effectively and responsibly.
