A Greater Applegate wants to support nonprofit organizations in the Applegate Valley as they carry out their missions and work in our community. Through the newly forming Applegate Nonprofit Network, we are learning from each other, making valuable connections and working toward pursuing collective interests.
A Greater Applegate hosted an initial Nonprofit Happy Hour in June 2018 with over 40 attendees representing two dozen nonprofits. A steering committee was formed to plan three more gatherings. On November 5, 23 community leaders gathered at Pacifica: A Garden in the Siskiyous in Williams, Oregon, for the first Applegate Valley Nonprofit Network visioning and planning session. We ate locally provided tacos, enjoyed live music, warmed up with breath work and an enlivening icebreaker, and dove into a World Cafe-style discussion about visions for nonprofit needs, opportunities, and the future of the Applegate Valley. We look forward to seeing this network grow and thrive, strengthening the Applegate Valley’s nonprofits and benefitting those who live work and visit the Applegate Valley.
