It has since grown into a global event\, with people worldwide taking part in activities to address climate change\, conservation\, and environmental justice. Clean Air Act\, Clean Water Act\, the establishment of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)\, or the Endangered Species Act\, are significant laws and initiatives that played a role in shaping the broader environmental movement of the time. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThose protections are again being threatened and we need to give our voice and actions to an ongoing protection.\n\nIf you would like to volunteer\, please let us know! DESCRIPTION:Rally to protest the Late Mungers/BLM logging plan. We’re concerned the BLM’s plans to cut large trees in forests specifically reserved to protect old growth and wildlife. They also plan to build new roads which will do further damage to the forest. Please join us on Saturday\, June 25th\, noon to 1:00 pm at the Grants Pass County Courthouse on 6th St. There will be speakers. Bring your own sign or borrow one provided by the organizers.

DESCRIPTION:ANN and Williams Community Forest Project will be leading a hike up Mule Gulch Road in Williams to commercial logging units proposed in the Penn Butte Timber Sale. This area is popular for hiking in the Williams area and contains beautiful old forests the BLM plans to log. We will be leading a hike a few miles up Mule Gulch Road to visit units proposed for logging. Hiking the units will require some off-trail hiking on steep slopes with downed logs and branches. \nMeet at the Williams Grange and carpool to the trailhead.  \nBring: Sturdy shoes\, appropriate clothing\, water\, and food for lunch or a snack along the hike\, or trekking poles if you need them for off-trail hiking.

SUMMARY:Late Mungers Timber Sale Protest Rally – Saturday May 21st – 10:00 AM
DESCRIPTION:BLM is proposing a timber sale in Williams called Late Mungers. The sale is 792 acres\, 6 million board feet and involves Marble Gulch and Upper Powell areas. The plan removes trees up to 36 inches\, opens up the canopy to 30 % and has 2-acre clearcuts. We are currently in a drought and a possible decrease in our water supply can be disastrous. The BLM has proposed this sale and marked trees and boundaries without an environmental analysis.\nPlease come to the protest rally in support of our trees. \nWe are wearing lime green shirts inscribed with Trees Have Standing. Order you shirts now (email: cebruner@hotmail.com)\, 6.00 100% cotton. Pick up your shirts at the rally. Hike to Lake Mungers following May 21st rally.\nThere will be a sign making group on May 17th at 1:00 PM at SCA. Or bring your own.\nNote: Second Hike on May 22nd\nOn May 22nd  meet at 10am at the Williams Grange for a hike to Mule Gulch. This area is also a BLM timber sale site.
