SUMMARY:Introduction to the Benefits of Sound Healing
DESCRIPTION:Great Room \nSaturday\, July 23\, 2022 \n2:00 pm – 3:15 pm \n $15 Fee (scholarships available) \nRegistration is strongly recommended.  \nPlease arrive 5-10 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork. \nPlease be advised: If a class needs to be canceled or changed in some way\, registrants will receive an email at least an hour before class. Please check your email prior to attending our classes. \n\nThis instructional class will begin by explaining to participants what sound healing is\, why it is effective\, then allow each person attending to experience tuning fork and crystal bowl vibrations near them as Claudia will go around to each person wishing this experience. She will demonstrate the calming effects of Koshi chimes\, Tibetan chakra bowls\, alchemy crystal bowls and a Paiste moon gong showing the correct way to play these sacred instruments. Claudia will bring books on sound healing written by experts for additional reading. This class will conclude with a 20 minute demo of a group sound event. \nPresenter: Claudia Ingraham \n“Claudia Ingraham has been practicing Sound Healing for 13 years now\, beginning in Denver\, Colorado and continued after moving to Jacksonville\, Oregon in 2014. She began this journey after completing a training in advanced sound healing techniques in the traditional Himalayan method with Suren Shrestha in Boulder\, Colorado while finishing her yoga teacher training. Afterwards she organized yoga/ sound healing retreats at Hot Springs locations for 4 years while in Denver. She has completed trainings in Biofield Tuning\, studied with musician Leigh Ann Phillips\, Matthew Kocel and a Gong Bath Intensive training with Richard Rudis. \nClaudia connects deeply with her intuition when she plays for people and loves seeing and hearing about positive and sometimes profound results experienced. This class will allow participants to understand what sound healing is\, experience various sound instruments and learn what sound tools they can use daily to enhance their lives.”

SUMMARY:Staying Sharp: How to sharpen your knives at home
DESCRIPTION:Great Room \nWednesday\, July 13\, 2022 \n1:30 pm – 3:00 pm \n $7 Fee (scholarships available) \nRegistration is strongly recommended.  \nPlease arrive 5-10 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork. \nPlease be advised: If a class needs to be canceled or changed in some way\, registrants will receive an email at least an hour before class. Please check your email prior to attending our classes. \n\nJoin us for an evening of information and skill-building from a local woodworker\, Jerry Pendzick! Jerry will demonstrate many varied methods for sharpening knives and also offer tips on sharpening tools for woodworking.  Please bring a non-serrated\, dull knife for a hands-on experience with this new skill. \nPresenter: Jerry Pendzick \n“As a youngster\, I was taught the basics of woodworking with my father. Growing up\, I had little time for the craft\, as my time in the military didn’t allow for much woodworking. I began working with wood in 1986\, and had some success building tables\, desks\, and stools. In 1996 I decided that I wanted formal training\, so I enrolled in Palomar College’s Cabinet and Furniture Technology Program. Completing the program in 2000\, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for the next 16 years. I was able to master many different woodworking skills\, including tool sharpening. I specialized in construction of Early American Chairs.”
