Led by some of the best botanists in southern Oregon\, Julie Spellitich and Richard Callagan from Siskiyou BioSurvey\, this workshop will look at the riparian plants that call the Applegate River home. From wetland and streambank wildflowers\, to sedges\, rushes\, grasses\, shrubs and trees\, riparian plants shape the habitat quality along the river. Workshop participants will learn about the native and non-native plants. Get to know the Applegate River that defines the Applegate River watershed a little better by learning more about the flora!\n\n\nPlease arrive a few minutes early for this workshop that will start at 11am at the Red Lily Vineyards tasting room. We will then walk to the river for the workshop.\n\n\n\n12:30-3:00pm\nMusic by\nUPWIND GROOVERS\nA band of river rafters\, hence the name\, Upwind Groovers is a homegrown southern Oregon string band\, playing folk\, country and Americana music. She has a deep love for anything botanical and has been working as a professional botanist and plant ecologist in southern Oregon forests for 20 years. She has a special interest in native seed propagation and collecting. Her early love of plants was expressed through her extensive work in organic farming\, nursery work\, and seed growing with Seeds of Change and on her own farm in New Mexico.\n\n\n\nRichard Callagan is a southern Oregon native and co-founder of Siskiyou BioSurvey\, an ecological and botanical consulting service. He has been conducting botanical surveys for 39 years and is intimately familiar with the vascular\, bryophyte\, lichen and fungi species of Oregon. Previously\, he worked in other forest-related jobs including reforestation\, trail construction\, thinning\, and stocking surveys. Richard has a wealth of knowledge from botany\, history\, ecology and wildlife biology that he is looking forward to sharing with you.

Let’s have some fun! And raise money for Pacifica while showcasing all the amazing resources it provides to our greater community. We’re trying to put the FUN in FUNdraiser\, while raising awareness about everything Pacifica offers! \nEnjoy a variety of country carnival-style games and rides for all ages! Play the games for a chance win prizes! Raffle tickets will be drawn to award larger prizes throughout the night. The more you play\, the better chance you have of winning prizes! \nThe Monday Hub\, along with the Latigo Community Supper Club\, will be serving handmade food & beverages for all\, with a mix of locally harvested farm foods. Along with food\, beverages\, rides\, and games\, we have a spectacular lineup of local bands\, including a live band with a caller to lead group folk dances. There will also be a silent auction with an impressive selection of items from local makers and beyond. A group of local dancers will perform the Corn Dance\, a traditional Native American ceremonial dance that honors the harvest of the Three Sisters: corn\, beans and squash. \n$30 suggested donation. \nShow up early to catch all the fun!
